Death:  Jun. 5, 1993

Musician. Born Harold Lloyd Jenkins in Friars Point, Mississippi. His father taught him guitar chords when he was just 4 years old. When he was 10 years old the family moved to Helena, Arkansas and he put together his first band, the Phillips County Ramblers that same year. By the time he was 12 he had his own Saturday morning radio show. He was also an excellent baseball player and turned down an opportunity to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies j...

1997, Elton John recorded a new version of 'Candle In The Wind' after performing the song live at Diana Princess of Wales funeral. A record 31.5 million across the UK watched Elton play the special tribute to Diana. The track went on to become the biggest selling single of all-time.

Ronnie James Dio Dies

Ronnie James Dio, whose soaring vocals, poetic lyrics and mythic tales of a never-ending struggle between good and evil broke new ground in heavy metal, died Sunday, according to a statement from his wife and manager. He was 67.

Dio revealed last summer that he was suffering from stomach cancer shortly after wrapping up a tour in Atlantic City, N.J., with the latest incarnation of Black Sabbath, under the name Heaven And Hell.

Roy Orbison Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame Jan.29 2010

Late rock 'n' roll pioneer Roy Orbison has been honored

with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Orbison's widow Barbara accepted the star in front of the

Capitol Records building on his behalf on Friday. Orbison

died in 1988 at the age of 52, in the midst of a comeback

with The Traveling Wilburys, a whimsical supergroup that

included Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Jeff

Lynne.

Lynne attended the ceremony, as did Eric Idle, Chris Isaak,

Joe Walsh and Dwight Yoakam....
